Increasingly popular with skiers from an increasing number of nations, Slovakia is a ski destination we hear about & visit more often. Scoring high for value for money, variety & lack of queues in all major resorts there’s a practical attraction to visiting. Resorts are varied with some modern & others traditional, progressive attractions & attitudes, traditional Austro-Hungaria era architecture and bleak relics of the Soviet days. Jasná in the Low Tatras, part of the Carpathian Range is a popular resort with 35km of groomed pistes catering for all but the expert skier’s needs. The high Tatras offer further skiing opportunities in resorts like Stary Smokovec & Tatranska Lominca.
