Louise got the gong for determination and commitment to excellence in ski tourism – at a ceremony in Kitzbühel. Austria – and also qualified in the top-three for Best Overall Ski Resort in the World, with Deer Valley and Val Thorens, which took top honour.
Louise owner-President Charlie Locke told us: “The Lake Louise Ski Resort has been my lifelong passion and we couldn’t be more pleased by this recognitions. We take a lot of pride in providing impeccable hospitality in a pristine mountain setting where our guests are wowed at every turn.”
“With over a million votes cast from across the globe, it’s a testament to all of the hard work the people at Lake Louise do to make the guest experience No 1, and to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, says Dan Markham, Communications Director at Louise.
The resort is about 90 minutes drive from Calgary. And is one of North America’s finest – a real European-style mountain with more than 150km of pistes and endless off-piste – and there are runs for all. In particular we like the fact that from every lift there are runs to suit every skill level – making it great for families and mixed groups.
GSG has a writer based in Canada and he will be sending regular reports from the No 1 place to ski.
