Snowboarding instructor Chris Davies, based at Manchester’s Chill Factor, has ditched his long-time sweetheart, Nicola*, because she wanted to get married, and 40-year-old Chris just wants to board.
Today he cancelled his £10,000 wedding and ended the 4-year relationship with Nicola. Chris, from Winsford, Cheshire, said: “! I’m seriously addicted to boarding and everything that goes with it! ‘One of the main reasons for cancelling my wedding and ending the relationship was my love of snowboarding. Although my ex fiancée boarded, she didn’t want to go away every year and made it clear that she didn’t want me to carry on doing what I do.”…
It was in France that Chris first hit the slopes and he goes there annually and often too to Lake Louise in Canada because “I’m totally hooked”.
“I first skied in Flaine in France when my parents took me, aged 7 and instantly loved it!”
“I took my fiancée three times to France to ski, but she took it badly when I called things off and we no longer talk any more, said Chris.
“For me it’s all about the scenery and the feeling of flying down a mountain. I love the mountains and the outdoors and it’s brought me many lifelong friends now & I met my fiancé through Snowboarding, at Chill Factore actually! I’m seriously addicted to boarding and everything that goes with it!

“My most favourite resort is Val d’Isere, France. I have been several times because of its amazing runs, it’s challenging and has an incredible party scene – apres ski is as important to me as boarding and each afternoon you’ll find me dancing on a table in La Folie Douce
“My favourite board is Lib Tech Travis Rice. It’s really fast and handles amazing. Never ridden anything as fast or with as much grip!
“My favourite mountains are at Lake Louise, Banff Canada, and the runs there are ?Incredibly beautiful and such long, long runs!
