Matterhorn tour open

The new 3S cableway from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise mountain station is finally up and running after many years of planning.

At 3883 metres above sea level the cableway to the Testa Grigia valley station  completes the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, allowing passengers to take a  scenic trip around the Matterhorn, which includes the highest border crossing by cable car in the Alps.

Cost of the project so far is 140 million Swiss Francs,  reports  Markus Hasler, CEO of Zermatt Bergbahnen, who is confident that ‘new trans-Alpine connection between Switzerland and Italy appeal to European and international guests.

The new cableway opens the Valle d’Aosta region for visitors seeking  spectacular scenery and riding, biking, hiking and golf.  SnowXperience world of adventure is due to open in August to offer winter sports beginners the chance to hire all the equipment they need and book ski instructors on the spot.
