Les Quatres Vallées is the Swiss answer to France’s Les Trois Vallées, with 412km of pistes and some of the finest on and off-piste skiing anywhere.
If you’re planning to trade places this year and get the best of the 4 valleys at prices nearly a third less than Verbier, why not try Nendaz in the next valley. It’s a purpose built resort with most of the property in chalet style, which never dates, the village sits in a sunny position at 1370m above Rhône valley.
A small gondola serves the local ski area at Tracouet which has some very nice, easy cruising runs back to the village. Getting to and from the rest of the 4 valleys has its challenges, so most holiday skiers get the reliable local bus to Siviez which is the Clapham Junction of the 4 valleys. Some of our readers swear by Nendaz, with small 3 star hotels, and a fair amount of night life here, with bars and Asian cuisine. This is package ski country with the Brits growing in number each year, attracted by non- Verbier prices.
